Whatever is going on inside of Jeep, or if its just a move to create more hype, its delaying us from seeing the production version of the Grand Wagoneer. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! reports that we wont be seeing the production version of the much anticipated Ram 1500 based 3 row SUV on September 3rd . Instead it will be a concept. This is strange, as the article points out since this thing is supposed to go on sale next year. Anyway, its yet another wait that might have prospective buyers pissed. The Grand Wagoneer has had a almost an Acura NSX level of “its coming” having been originally announced back in 2011 supposedly for the 2014 model year. But nope. That then changed to 2019. And its still not here. So I wouldn’ t be surprised if it actually doesn’ t come next year.

Just a thought here. Digital camouflage that looks like wood grain.

That would be cool. But the time it took to make something like that, they could actually debut the production model.

Kind of weird they went with a city skyline. You’d think they’d use a forest or something.

True. At least they are acknowledging these things natural habitat’s though.

it’ll be a “concept” like the 2003 Chrysler 300 “concept” or the 2012 Lincoln MKZ “concept,” both were basically production-intent designs with some tweaks to the lights, mirrors, and door handles.

Or Martha’s Vineyard .

I honestly forgot they were still seriously considering this until a week ago or so I’m not too bothered by the concept status.
Given what we know about it, a concept will be fine since it will just be the production version once you strip away all the fanciful stuff like stupid wheels and tires, shaved door handles, Super bespoke interior made of screens, etc. What we’ll get is a pretty good idea of size, shape, looks, powertrain and so on. That will be enough.
On the one hand the last Jeep “concept” we got was the 392, which was hardly much of a concept and more of a “we aren’t 100% set on building this, but we’re pretty much building this”.
On the other hand, they’ve been waffling on making the GW for so long maybe they really don’t have it all together.

I think this is why I see this as a problem, along with many other people. Chrysler has a history of showing nearly production ready concepts as a preview, or outright bringing concept cars to production almost unchanged. But with this having been announced almost 10 years ago now, with 2 missed model year debuts, those don’t instill a l ot of confidence.

No no no, they’re showin g the car go capacity.

Could be like a Honda concept where they just trot out a production car and call it a concept.

I think they are all in at this point. How could they not being with SUV’s and off-roading and new peaks? That being said, perhaps the program is way behind schedule

Thats the most likely possibility.

I think its more Nantucket. I think Martha’s V ineyard is more broken BMWs Wrangler.

wow - interesting. Given the cash they have been spending in teaser ads recently I would have thought it would be a go.

Can’t be much of a concept. The damn thing goes into production next year
